Since my last update, we've had a couple of fairly busy Mondays in the Surrey Individuals.

Marcus has asked me to send the club update while he's off on his traditional summer gallivant through bits of Europe. Please accept my apologies for not sending an update last week - I'd say that hopefully this one makes up for it, but unfortunately that level of satisfaction is not guaranteed.

Probably one of our best nights online. Salties 1 just fell short of getting a win.

Another interesting night of 4NCL - I had thought it was clear that this was potentially a tricky night for all 3 teams.

We had quite a night, there are many advantages to this competition but in some ways saw the worst of online chess.

The themes for today are snatching defeat from the jaws of victory (Again!) and also loose pieces
