Chess players of all abilities are most welcome at Epsom Chess Club.

Serious players will have the opportunity to represent us in a number of matches in Surrey league and cup competitions, whereas casual players will be able to hone their skills against other members over a drink.

Annual membership fees (usually payable in August) for the adult club are shown below.

We also expect our regular players to be English Chess Federation members. Please follow the link below to renew your ECF membership.

In 2024/25, we will conduct a knockout Club Championship (our annual internal competition). The reigning club champion is Chris Wright, who won it for the first time in 2023/24. We also run additional Surrey Individual competitions and fun events throughout the year.

Full Membership - £60 / annum

Annual membership to our adult club is currently priced at £60/annum if you are in full-time employment. Your contribution will go towards improving the club, hiring our current venue, competition fees and supporting all members.

'Unwaged' Membership - £30 / annum

This membership option is aimed at adult club members who are not in full-time employment. This includes OAPs, under-18s and students. Please note that if you would like your child to join the club, please consult the 'Junior Club' page instead. The adult club is open to juniors who have progressed through the Junior Club and reached a standard whereby they can compete and socialise comfortably with adults.

New members are welcome to come along a couple of times free of charge in order to try out the club. After that, we would encourage you to contact our treasurer, Lucy Emery, to arrange payment:
